K2 meters and EMF detectors
K2 meters and EMF (Electromagnetic Field) detectors are essential tools in paranormal investigations. These devices are designed to measure fluctuations in electromagnetic fields, which many paranormal investigators believe can indicate the presence of spirit energy. While scientific evidence is still emerging, many report that spirits can manipulate these fields, causing the meters to light up or register changes. During our events, you'll learn how to properly use these meters and interpret their readings, potentially opening a direct line of communication with the spirits around us.
K2 meters can be used in a manner of ways. You can ask spirit to come towards the K2 to show their presence. If spirit is near, the lights will go through green, amber and red to show how close they are. They can also be used as a 'yes', 'no' or conformation of a question. i.e. "If you are a male, can you take the light to amber please?" "Am I correct in thinking you lived here, if so, take the lights to red?"
The Ouija board or as some call it, the talking or message board.
The Ouija board, a classic tool used for spirit communication, has been used for centuries to seek answers from beyond the veil. Participants place their fingers lightly on a planchette, which then moves across the board to spell out messages or point to 'yes' or 'no'. At Unique Paranormal, we approach the Ouija board with respect and caution, guiding you through its proper use in a controlled and safe environment. The board is cleansed after every use and is opened and closed safely with the help of spirit guides and angels. It can be a powerful instrument for gaining insights from spirits, offering a truly unique communicative experience.
Here at Unique, we are aware that some people are unsure about using one or even being in the same room as a ouija board session. We accept that some people are nervous and we would never force anyone or even ridicule those that do not want to join in. All I can say, is that in my 30 plus years using a board, I have never come across any bad energies, it is opened with good intentions so mainly only good spirits can come forward. As stated above, no one can say it's 100% safe, that's why we exercise caution at every event.
Rempods and trigger objects
Rempods are fascinating devices that create a 360-degree electromagnetic field. When a spirit approaches or passes through this field, the device will light up and emit audible tones, indicating their presence. This provides real-time, interactive communication. Trigger objects, on the other hand, are items specifically chosen to provoke a reaction from a spirit. These could be historical items relevant to a location or sentimental objects designed to attract attention. We'll show you how to strategically place and monitor these objects, hoping for an interaction that brings the unseen into our reality.
We use a number of trigger objects which get a reaction at certain venues such as a Rempod bear or doll in a school. Rosary beads or a cross will get a reaction in a holy venue such as a nunnery, priory or church. We use Rempod bears, Rempod dolls, haunted dolls, cat balls which light up when touched, maglite torches, vehicles that move indicating where spirit is, behind, in front or above the vehicle, and motion sensor lights.
Dowsing rods and pendulums
Dowsing rods and pendulums are old tools adapted for paranormal investigations. Dowsing rods, typically L-shaped pieces of metal, are believed to move in response to subtle energy shifts, often used to pinpoint areas of paranormal activity or even communicate 'yes' or 'no' answers. Pendulums, usually a weighted object on a string, are held by an investigator and are thought to swing in specific patterns to answer questions. Both require sensitivity and focus, and we'll teach you the techniques to attempt communication through these fascinating instruments.
Dowsing rods, originally used to find water sources, are a very good piece of equipment to use and you will get really good results once you know the best way to use them. It's better if the rods are made from copper, but any rods that are not easily manipulated are fine. To start with, set your intention that you only want spirit from the light to interact with you. This is useful for every experiment you will be using on the event. Relax your arms so that your elbows are at your side and forearms extended out in front of you. Ensure the rods are both straight in front. Ask spirit to show you the "Yes" reply. Then ask them to show you the "No" reply. Alternatively you can tell them which direction to take for their replies.
Pendulums can be used in a similar way to the dowsing rods, in how they can answer your questions, but they can also be used with a pendulum board. The board has "Yes", "No", "Maybe" and "Rephrase" on it.

Spirit boxes, also known as 'ghost boxes' or 'Frank's boxes,' rapidly scan through radio frequencies, creating white noise. We’ll show you how to operate them and interpret the sometimes fleeting messages. You need to listen carefully to the responses and also, you may not get a reply to your question immediately as there is no dimension of time in the spirit world. The trick is to decipher the words and they may relate to a previous question. Please be aware that some apps have word banks that spout random words out at time. These are the ones to disregard.
Other ways of investigating without using technology
While technology plays a big part in paranormal investigation, spirits often find other means to communicate. At Unique Paranormal, we also explore more traditional and intuitive methods. These can include unexplained noises lik knocks or whispers, changes in temperature, or even feelings of being touched. We encourage guests to pay close attention to their surroundings and their own senses.
We like to use good old fashioned ways to communicate such as seances where we all hold hands and ask spirit to come forward and join us. We can ask them to walk around so that we can hear their footsteps, to knock on a table or door or even to make the room cold or hot. Spirit like to interfere with the room temperature.
Our guests have enjoyed the 'human pendulum' experiment. This is where spirit can manipulate the body to move either forwards or backwards. A guest stands in the center of the room with someone in front and behind them to help steady them. Spirit can get very excitable and can tend to push a little bit enthusiastically! We tend to ask spirit which is their "Yes or No" Just like the pendulum above. We can also dictate where they should go. Questions are asked of the spirit and they reply by moving the person in the middle using their energy.
